Eleventh Ephrata Dodgeball Tournament Fall 2014

Dodgeball for Diabetes celebrated the eleventh annual Dodgeball Tournament, crowning four champions for the Fall of 2014. The tournament featured forty-seven teams comprising of over 312 players all of which came together to to have fun, while raising money for Juvenile Diabetes.

The Tournament, designed to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes, raised over $10,665.

The Champions of each circuit are listed below, but in my mind the real winners are the teams that raised more than the minimum required amount.

Locally one team raised over $1,000 on their own, and for their efforts, members of "Mean Machine" received a bundle of dodgeball clothes and memorabilia. Also earning top honors in the Middle School "Dodgin' the Media" raised $580, and in the Senior Circuit "To the Wall" also raised over $500, with $519.

Congratulations, and thanks to all that participated, and all that helped.

How it all went down

  • Rookie Circuit
In the Rookie Circuit, from a record field of thirteen teams, No Hit Sherlock (6-0, 12-0) came out victorious with a win over the Little Big Shots (5-2, 10-5). In the semi-finals Little Big Shots dispatched of the only other undefeated squad 1,000 Ways to Dodge (5-1, 11-3) by the count of 2-1. No Hit Sherlock would be the only championship team to not drop a single game the entire tourney.
  • Junior Circuit
In the Junior Circuit, Dodgin' the Media (6-1, 12-3) turned back Dodgebolas (6-1, 13-2) two games to one. The two teams had met in pool play earlier, with Dodgebolas winning that contest two games to zero, but they could not repeat their efforts in the finals.
  • Senior Circuit
In the Senior Circuit, Lowrie's Lemurs (7-0, 14-1) eliminated TGOD (6-2, 12-5) two games to zero, Lowrie's Lemurs also took out previously undefeated Mean Machine (6-1, 12-2) on the way to the Finals. TGOD defeated the previously unbeaten Lowrey's Leumurs (6-1, 12-4) in the semi-finals before falling to Lowrie's Lemurs in the final, it was just too many Lemurs for TGOD to handle.
  • Belles Circuit
In the first ever Belles of Dodgeball Finals, No Dodgeballs (6-1, 13-3) eliminated Not in the Face (3-4, 6-8) two games to zero. No Dogeballs defeated You Can't Hit this (2-4, 5-10) in the semi-finals while Not in the Face beat the Ball-Americans (2-4, 6-9) on the other side of the bracket. A record five all girls teams entered the tournament this year, spawning the Belles of Dodgeball Championship Bracket.
