First Ephrata Dodgeball Tournament Spring 2005

EphrataMounts.com celebrated the first annual Dodgeball Tournament, crowning three champions for the Spring of 2005. Twenty-eight teams comprising of over 180 players came together to see who would be the last team standing. The two-day tournament was held March 11th and 12th.

The Tournament was the first co-sponsored by Dodgeball for Diabetes. From it's inception the tournament was designed to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes. The tournament raised over $714 profit in it's first season. With the expenses covered for future tournaments, and changes planned for entrance requirements, next year's tournament is almost guaranteed to triple that amount.

In the Rookie Circuit, from a field of four Elementary schools, the Speagles claimed victory. The Speagles posted a 3-2 record on the way to winning the championship over the Average Joe's (2-3). The "best of 5" championship was decided 3 games to 1.

In the Junior Circuit the Playground Legends survived the deepest pool finishing first from the field of 16. The Playground legends (7-0) never tasted defeat all weekend, and only dropped 3 games as their game record was a Tournament best 15-3. In the finals the Playground Legends defeated Hot Six (5-2, 11-6). The Hot Six tasted defeat twice, both times to the Playground Legends. They lost in pool play 2 games to zero, and in the best of five finals three games to 1.

The Senior Circuit Champion was All Braun, No Brains who actually lost their first match before finishing out on top of the 8 team bracket. ABNB (5-1, 12-5) defeated the 1/2 Naked Snipers (5-1, 12-5) in an exciting match that used all 5 games.

In a fun twist, the Junior Circuit Champions challenged the Senior Circuit Champions, and prevailed by a score of 2 games to 1.

Congratulations, and thanks to all that participated, and all that helped.
